CO-PBST

7.1-Apply technology to the delivery of standards-based instruction

I have met this standard by learning how to create and design WebQuests, podcasts, and movies. All of the activities brought aspects of what I believe best suits my future students, as well as kept in the line of my degree in English. The WebQuest was delivered through Google sites, podcast through Audacity, and the movie I made in iMovie. All of these assignments have given me the ability to use technology in the future at a rate that is sufficient in the standards-based instruction.

7.2 Use technology to increase student achievement.

I would say that the WebQuest best achieved this part of the CO-PBST because not only does it have students learn what web sites are useful when doing research, it also keeps them engaged in one subject while letting them have the freedom of looking into it on their own. That sort of activity shows them that they research can be fun, easy, and useful.

7.3 Utilize technology to manage and communicate information.

I would say that the portfolio best encompasses this one because not only can I see it, but I can have the world see it which is communicating information to others about who I am. Also, since the website is mine, I can manage what I put out there and what people can see. This skill could definitely be used later in life for classroom or school websites so that I can keep in contact with my students regularly.

7.4 Apply technology to data-driven assessments of learning.

Again, the WebQuest fits this one because the quest had to be planned around a subject that one could learn from. We also had to put down the assessments the lesson hit on, therefore showing that I can apply technology filled with data in a way that helps elevate students learning to the next level.

7.5 Instruct students in basic technology skills.

Now that I have taken this course, I know how to use a lot more of the recent technological activities. This brings me up to speed with what interests kids (as to not be in the dark), and so I could definitely help them if they had questions.
